How we handle your information.
This site uses Plausible analytics, which is cookie-free and does not track individuals across the web. No cookie banner is shown because no consent is required. I do not use Google Analytics, advertising trackers, session replay tools, or third-party fingerprinting.
Contact form.
When you submit the contact form, your name, email address, company, and message are stored securely in my enquiry database and emailed to me. I use these details to reply to your enquiry and to keep a record of the conversation. I do not share or sell your details. You can request deletion at any time by emailing david@actuallyai.co.uk.
The AI advisor on the homepage.
The “Tell me what your business does” tool on the homepage sends the text you type to Anthropic’s Claude model, via the Vercel AI Gateway, to generate a suggestion. That is the only reason the text leaves this site.
Your business description and the suggestion the model returns are both stored in my database indefinitely, so I can review the exchange and improve the tool over time. I also email myself a copy of the exchange, the same way a contact form submission reaches me, because a good answer is often a genuine lead.
The suggestion is not gated. You get the answer whether or not you tell me who you are. If you then choose to give me your email address, and optionally a phone number, I store those alongside that exchange, email you a copy of the suggestion, and use them to follow up with you personally. That is the only thing they are used for. There is no mailing list, and I do not pass them to anyone.
To stop the tool being flooded with automated requests, I keep a one-way SHA-256 hash of your IP address, never the address itself, and use it to enforce a small daily limit per visitor. The hash cannot be reversed back into an IP address.
Do not put anything in the box you would not want stored or read by me. You can ask me to delete a stored exchange at any time by emailing david@actuallyai.co.uk with roughly when you used the tool and what you typed.
Lawful basis.
For form submissions and the AI advisor, the lawful basis is your explicit request to be contacted or to use the tool (legitimate interest, with a clear opt-in). For analytics, the lawful basis is legitimate interest, given Plausible processes no personal data and uses no cookies.
Your rights.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, or delete any personal data I hold about you. Email david@actuallyai.co.uk with your request and I will respond within one working day.
